Government's Green Levies Review Won't Cover the Feed-in Tariff

The Department for Energy and Climate Change have been quick to reassure the green energy industry that subsidies promoting investment in renewable energy technologies will not be altered by the prime minister's review of green levies, releasing a statement that says:
“No one is talking about changing investment incentives for renewables, such as the Renewables Obligation, Contracts for Difference and feed in tariffs which are essential for investor confidence in the renewables sector."
This appears to have reassured industry leaders, after the mixed messages coming from Downing Street that appeared to suggest that FITs, ROCs etc could be in jeopardy, throwing the industry into turmoil less than two years after the coalition government first attempted to dramatically curb the scheme for solar with a move that was held to be unlawful when challenged in court. It is still unclear which green levies the PM's review will focus on.
