Perry's Vauxhall Dealership

 

In October 2012, Southern Solar installed 27 kWp Solar PV for Perry’s of Dover, a Vauxhall car dealership on the White Cliffs Business Park. Hidden away on the roof of the car showroom, this Solar PV array consisting of over 100 solar modules will go a long way to meeting Perry’s daytime electricity needs at the dealership. Installing Solar for a commercial building is hassle free, there is no disruption to the day to day running of the business, and an installation on the scale Perry’s have chosen takes only a few days to install.

 

Not only benefiting from the financial returns under the Governments Feed in Tariff Scheme, but also reducing their carbon footprint by more than 14 tonnes CO2 per year, Perry’s have been able to reduce their exposure to rising electricity prices in the future. Solar PV systems should last for the next 30-40 years which means the paybacks extend well beyond the 20 year life of the Feed in Tariff.

 

Shatterlocks Infants School

 

Also in Dover we installed Solar PV on Shatterlocks Primary School, ideal for schools who can use the Solar PV as a teaching aid, demonstrating renewable energy and electricity generation close at hand. Solar also counts towards the Eco Schools award scheme enabling the school to score higher in their quest for Green Flag status. During the summer holidays, when electricity generation from the Solar PV is at its peak, schools benefit by exporting (selling) unused electricity to the grid via their electricity supplier, boosting funds for the school also.
